Eco-Fisherman Village is a project for a Touristic for a little community at Santubung (Sarawak). The aim was to take advantage of the natural resources (particularly the sea and landscape as a international touristic attraction of ever growing importance) thus generating some sustainable economical development for said community and for the litoral (the seaside region).
Leading premises were: - A close relation to nature, in the way of an harmonic dialog between the sea (as a protagonist) and architecture as a human presence. This is mostly based on the riverside poetic imaginary, about this landscape of existing of Gunung Santubung and Gunung Sejenjang and the relation it establishes with the man than inhabits it, about the rich solitude it proposes when social codes are left aside. - A clever form of implantation, that arises from reading the terrain's natural factors and takes advantage of them, often using them (through architectural devices) in behalf of comfort and ambiance, thus making nature and architecture reciprocal.
